KATRINA chive cutter

The KATRINA chive cutter is a proposal for onion growers. The machine can also be used to cut the greens of other vegetables, clean up uncultivated land, cut grass in orchards, etc. Thanks to its versatility, the cutter can be attached to the front or rear three-point linkage without changing the mechanical transmission and without unnecessary disassembly or assembly of additional elements. The design of the machine consists of a main frame, three-point suspension for the front and rear three-point linkages respectively, an angular gearbox, belt transmission, cutting knife heads, guards and three wheels with hydraulic cylinders with the option of manual height control or automatic levelling.
The power requirement for the machine depends on the working width and is approximately 40kW for the narrowest width and 70kW for the widest width. The speed of the cutting blades depends on the tractor's PTO speed:
• at a PTO speed of 540 rpm, the cutting knife speed will be approximately 980 rpm,
• at a PTO speed of 750 rpm, the cutting knife speed will be approximately 1360 rpm
• at a PTO speed of 1,000 rpm, the cutting knife speed will be approximately 1,800 rpm.

The basic option uses hydraulic height adjustment for the right and left sides of the machine via two input and two output hoses – control from the tractor hydraulics.

As an optional extra, the cutter is equipped with a control panel from the tractor cab with a choice of two operating modes: automatic mode, where the machine automatically levels itself during operation, and manual mode, where the height is controlled by means of up and down switches for the right and left sides.
